Engineering Manager

Reed Professional Services are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and manage a suite of configuration and documentation tasks. This role is critical in ensuring service delivery aligns with planned timelines and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be autonomous, proactive, and adept at collaborating across departments to enhance the company’s streaming platform.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Oversee and manage a team of 5 engineers with varying levels of seniority.
• Ensure services are delivered on schedule and meet quality standards.
• Address queries and compile user data to continuously improve performance.
• Collaborate with the Behavioural Data Engineering/Streaming Data Management team.
• Design and construct pipelines to gather user data for analysis and to fulfil the requirements of product management teams.
• Maintain and upgrade existing pipelines and services in line with new feature releases on GCP.
• Manage changes to tracking specifications based on the needs of product and feature teams.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical incidents and extended office hours support for less urgent issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of GCP (Google Cloud Platform), including its capabilities and services.
• Experience in a Scrum environment and proficiency with tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Skilled in technologies such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Compute, Memorystore/Redis, and Kafka.
• Programming expertise in Java, Python, and Terraform.
• Capable of overseeing engineering efforts to construct relevant pipelines and processing services.
• Proven track record in service management, upgrades, and tracking specification maintenance.
