We are on the hunt for a GCP DevOps Engineer to join our team on an initial 6-month contract. This role is pivotal in managing a variety of configuration and documentation tasks to ensure service delivery aligns with planned timelines and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be autonomous, ready to initiate the project, and collaborate across departments to bolster the company’s streaming platform.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Oversee the engineering capability to construct relevant pipelines and processing services for data collection.
• Work closely with product management teams to comprehend requirements and develop pipelines to meet objectives.
• Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of existing data pipelines.
• Recommend and implement service upgrades in response to new GCP feature releases.
• Design and build services with a focus on common feature functionality for community-wide use.
• Manage and maintain changes to tracking specifications as dictated by product and feature teams.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical incidents and extended office hours support for less urgent issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Comprehensive understanding of GCP (Google Cloud Platform), including its capabilities and services.
• Experience in a Scrum environment and adept at using tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Proficiency in technologies such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Compute, Memorystore/Redis, and Kafka.
• Programming expertise in Java, Python, and Terraform.
• Demonstrated ability to manage engineering projects and construct data pipelines.
• Experience in managing service upgrades and tracking specifications.
