Reed Professional Services are in search of a seasoned Project Manager to join one of our largest clients to work on one of their Technology projects within their Commercial team. This role is vital for steering and delivering technology solutions that will contribute to the ongoing success of a company with a rich heritage and a commitment to being a leader in the delivery industry.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Operate within agreed cost, time, and quality parameters, maintaining credibility and the ability to relate to a demanding internal client base and complex external supplier base.
  • Lead and manage projects effectively, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Develop and maintain internal partner relationships, understanding the dynamics of working with third parties.
  • Apply architecture, policies, and governance to the delivery of projects.
  • Utilize a direct and straightforward management style to address core issues efficiently.
  • Exhibit excellent people management skills, managing upwards and influencing within a complex environment.
  • Contribute collaboratively in a team-based environment, extending beyond the direct remit of the position.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle, including qualification, concept, feasibility, and business case development.
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen with project financial planning capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • Proven track record in project leadership and management.
    • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with internal partners and third parties.
    • In-depth understanding of both traditional and modern software/IT development lifecycles (Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall).
    • Knowledge of Agile/Lean values, principles, and practices.
    • Strong financial acumen related to project management.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience managing teams, either matrixed or direct.
    • Technical domain experience in system integration, building frameworks, and developing APIs and messaging standards.
    • Familiarity with Agile/Lean teams using SCRUM, KANBAN, XP delivery process frameworks.
    • Continuous improvement knowledge and experience.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Jira, HP Application Lifecycle Management, and MS Office tools.
    • Experience managing single to multiple external suppliers.
